For our next meeting we'll be reading Roseveare's mercifully short, clear
account of the institutional and economic changes in the 17th C English
financial revolution.   The book is available in the Internet Archive,
https://archive.org/details/financialrevolut0000rose.  It's an excellent
summary of the story told in detail, and much greater length, by Dickson,
and good to read with Inikori (who makes a much clearer case for the
importance of the slave trade in the development of English finanical
institutions).
