Faculty Position in International Development<br>

The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track faculty<br>
position in international development at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin Fall 2015.<br>
Applicants should have research and teaching interests in science & technology as they relate to international<br>
development or to issues of sustainability broadly defined (e.g. the environment, energy, natural resources,<br>
“smart” systems, public health). Candidates should be fluent in the theories and practice of global political and<br>
economic development. Applicants with interdisciplinary backgrounds that include expertise in a specific<br>
scientific or technological domain are encouraged to apply. All applicants should show promise or evidence of<br>
outstanding scholarly achievement. The ideal candidate would have a comparative perspective, foreign language<br>
skills, and field experience in the global south such as conducting project assessments. Applicants should be<br>
able to demonstrate success in securing grants, fellowships, or other types of external research funding.<br>
Candidates should have an interest in mentoring and training graduate students and helping to build our graduate<br>
students’ research capacity, policy experience, and development project skills. For entrepreneurial faculty,<br>
opportunities also exist for leading or participating in study abroad programs, policy initiatives, and<br>
development projects.<br>

The Sam Nunn School is multidisciplinary with undergraduate, graduate, and overseas programs, including joint<br>
undergraduate degrees with Modern Languages and Economics. The School’s programs focus on understanding<br>
the global context of advances in science and technology. The School has 21 faculty members; more than 300<br>
undergraduate majors, 50 Master’s and 10 Ph.D. degree students. Georgia Tech enrolls over 21,000 students and<br>
is consistently ranked as one of the top public universities in the country. Located in midtown Atlanta, Georgia<br>
Tech was recently voted one of the best places to work, and Atlanta is consistently ranked among the top ten<br>
