The Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies
(BIGSAS) at the University of Bayreuth in Germany offers three
fully funded PhD scholarships beginning 10/2014 in the following
research areas:<br>
<br>
- Culture and Technology in Africa<br>
- Media in Africa<br>
- Development Economics in Africa<br>
<br>
The successful candidate in the area 'Culture and Technology in
Africa' will be supervised by me - please feel free to get in

particularly welcome applications on questions of (renewable)
energy and energopolitics in Africa. If you are interested in
pursuing a PhD in this area, but do not have a concrete research
proposal yet, please also get in touch with me as there may be an
opportunity to link your PhD topic to a developing research
project.<br>

Applicants must have an excellent Master’s Degree. Applications
may be sent in German, English or French.<br>
The working language of BIGSAS is English.<br>

the six Partner Universities after the initial formal screening at
the University of Bayreuth. <br>
