We’re writing as general editors of a multivolume series under contract with Routledge, to invite expressions of interest by scholars who might like to serve as a volume co-editor in the project. These volumes will publish (in print and electronic format) primary sources in the area of gender, colonialism, and science (1750-1950). Most of the primary sources to be included will have been produced by women and trans-persons, and within various cultural and political contexts of the British Empire (indigenous, colonial, post-colonial).

We are recruiting at least two editors for each volume in the five-volume series. Editing the volume entails identifying, obtaining, excerpting, and arranging the sources, as well as writing brief prefaces to the sources and an introduction to the volume. Volumes will be due to us, in late summer 2023, and we anticipate publication by the end of 2023.

Attached is a brief prospectus. We believe this series will be distinctive amid existing collections of primary resources in the area of women, gender, and science, in terms of its breadth and commitment to conceptualizing the subject broadly to include multicultural understandings of nature.

There are further details to the project that we can share, and we’re happy to answer any questions.

To express your interest, please write directly to either of us by email.

With all best wishes,
