Subject: Annual Australia Africa Conference (AAC 2015), 26-28 August, Canberra, Australia

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the AAC 2015 Steering Group (AAUN, AABC, ANU Crawford School, African Heads of Mission) I am pleased to send you our weekly bulletin.

I attach the draft program, which is open for comment and suggestions to Monday 10 August.

The program has an opening session, three plenary sessions (business, education science and technology, food nutrition and health security) and three action workshops on these themes.

We look forward to engaging our minds, confirming our mutual interests; and building further our partnerships between academia, business and government in Africa and Australia.

We expect clear outcomes from the conference for all stakeholders, through teamwork that will help us to implement in 2015-16 and beyond, attracting additional resources based on our delivery of results.

The panelists and discussants will set the scene in focusing on valuable and feasible collaborations. There is enough discussion time to distil the ideas and contributions of all attending, in developing a practical program for the future. We will hold preparatory teleconferences with panelists in the next two weeks to prepare the sessions and workshops. These are based on progress with current programs and their focus for the future.

Right now, you could help us greatly by registering (for the conference and dinner) so that we can finalise the program, logistics, venues and catering accordingly. Please would you take this action now.

With thanks and best wishes,
