The second in our two part seminar on political settlements theory takes
place at 4pm on Wed 14th October. The discussion will be led by Brian Levy,
Professor of the Practice of International Development, School of Advanced
International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. In continuing our
exploration of the political settlements approach, this session will also
draw on a comparative case study of the politics and governance of basic
education in the Western Cape and Easter Cape. In addition to Chapter 8 of
Working with the Grain, participants are encouraged to read Chapter 7 of The
Politics and Governance of Basic Education, and also, if you're interested
in the education sector reform issues surfaced by the application, chapter
